A rare, 20-year-old example of Jamie Hewlett’s early Gorillaz work, published by the now-defunct Pictures on Walls, founded by Banksy and Jamie Hewlett. Published in conjunction with the release of Gorillaz’ second album, Demon Days, in May 2005, these stained glass pieces utilized advanced print techniques that were innovative for their era. POW description: “A beautiful piece of work. Made around the time of Gorillaz ‘Demon Days’ album – arguably still one of the 21st Century’s most coherent masterpieces.” Lithographically printed with silkscreen finishing on heavyweight cotton fibre rag paper. The printing technique creates a raised, textured effect that mimics the leadwork of stained glass. The piece is a printer’s proof, available only to employees of Picture on Walls and comes from the personal collection of former director and co-owner of Pictures on Walls. The print is accompanied by a letter of authenticity, along with the original, POW branded tissue paper.
